Teachers' Day Celebration

“Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu,
Guru Devo Maheshwara,
Guru Saakshat Param Brahama,
Tasmayee Shree Gurave Namah!! “
The most important thing about being a teacher is that it gives an opportunity to connect with a wide variety of students and in turn help them connect with their own selves and choose their own path. With every new connection a teacher also gets a chance to learn, to grow and to refine oneself. Such is the contribution of a teacher in the life of a student that without them students will be like bodies without spirits.

A.P.J Abdul Kalam said, “ if a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel there are three key societal members who can make a difference. They are the father, mother and the teacher.” Great teachers are the most important ingredients to the success of any school and if a school has great teachers in the classrooms then the parents need not worry much about their ward’s future.

To acknowledge the immense contribution of the teachers towards giving shape to the young minds , a day is kept aside to celebrate this noble profession and the people associated with it. This day is 5th of September, and in India this day is celebrated as Teachers day every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Radhakrishnan who was a teacher par excellence besides being a well known diplomat and a scholar.

To give tribute to their teachers, the young Josephites from primary as well as secondary school put up a beautiful program in honour of their beloved teachers. The short program was well presented with items like – dance medley , boogie-woogie – children’s show etc. The School Management, students , teachers and the staff members on this day took the opportunity to felicitate one our Senior Teachers on account of her Superannuation. No other day could have been better than this day today on 5th September to appreciate and acknowledge her long standing career as one of the best teachers of SJC. Mrs. Kusum, with her superannuation has left a void which will surely take some time to be filled. We all will miss Mrs. Kusum Bagga as one of the finest English Language and History teachers. We wish and pray for a blessed and a blissful life on the start of this new journey after retirement.

Here’s wishing her a happy retired life and to all the lovely teachers – A Happy Teachers Day.

May you continue to be the beacon of light for the Josephites today and always!
